Daycare FAQs

Our temperament test is designed to ensure our services are a right fit for you and your dog. We typically recommend temperament tests be completed earlier into the group day to ensure our trial dog is introduced to our group dogs one at a time as opposed to being introduced into an already established group.

We utilize a 3 section entrance to properly introduce our trial dogs into the group as safely as possible. The first entrance in an enclosed area visually and physically separated from our group. Here, we monitor for signs of anxiety and overall body language, allowing the trial dog to explore their new surroundings at their own pace.

Once we notice signs of comfort and lessened anxiety, we take the trial dog into our second section, an area in the main group separated by a wire fence. Here we allow our trial dogs to greet any group dogs through the safety of the fence and monitor their overall body language around other dogs. Once they begin to show signs of comfort, we introduce the group dogs one by one having them enter the sectioned off area on lead. Here we look for any signs of aggression or reactivity.

Provided the initial introductions go well, we allow our trial dogs to enter the group where we will continue to monitor their anxiety levels, body language, overall play style and type of dogs the best socialize with, filling out a trial report card.

The final step of our temperament test is to take a Polaroid picture of the trial dog playing with their new friends. We go over the report card as well as any notes throughout the day with the pet parent at pick up.
